  1. Intel Graphics Driver 31.0.101.5333 Delivers Up to 155% FPS Uplift for Select DirectX 11 Titles

It's worth noting that the increases detailed in the release notes are specific to the Meteor Lake laptop series integrated GPUs, not desktop Arc A- series GPUs. Still, good to see continued progress!
  2. CableMod 12VHPWR Angled Adapters Officially Recalled for Overheating and Melting GPUs: “At Least $74,500 in Property Damage Claims”

"If the adapter will not disengage from the GPU using reasonable force, the angled adapter may have failed. Please contact customer service for assistance. Support – CableMod or toll-free at 888-203-3605, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (ET). If your GPU is damaged because of...
  3. New Patriot Viper PV553 M.2 2280 PCIe Gen5 x4 SSD Is Capable of Sequential Read/Write Speeds Up to 12,400 MB/s, 11,800 MB/s

I love how they took the reference Phison heatsink and thought to themselves "what if we wrap a cosmetic insulating layer around it."
  4. Oppenheimer 4K UHD Blu-rays Hit $200 on eBay as Physical Versions of Christopher Nolan’s Atomic Bomb Film Sell Out at Retailers

I just checked out of curiosity, it looks like the only ones going for more than list price are the limited edition Steelbook packages which are only sold through Best Buy. Which makes sense. Anyone with $40 can walk into a local Target and pick up the 4K UHD with the normal plastic case just fine.
  5. Razer Announces Availability of Its First-Ever In-Ear Monitor, Bringing THX-Certified Sound to Gamers and Streamers

PSA: Razer owns THX; their own endorsement is best considered irrelevant.
  6. ASRock B650E PG Riptide WiFi Motherboard Review

Great rundown, but my only quibble would be the M.2 testing section. The results you saw for M2_2 are exactly in line with the slot's specs (Gen3x2), and contrary to what was written, ASRock does not refer to that particular slot as a "Hyper" M.2 slot from what I can see on the product page (or...
  7. CableMod Issues a Statement regarding Its Melted 12VHPWR Angled Adapters and Is Reimbursing Affected Users Whose RMA Requests Were Denied

While I'm not a fan of their tendency to magically manifest in comment form at the slightest mention of their brand (across any and all social media), this is how you treat your customers. Kudos. Full disclosure, I own one of their cables. I just wanted to be able to close my **** case side...
  8. MSI GeForce RTX 4090 SUPRIM X 24G Video Card Review

Nice writeup! I've got the same card and it's performed admirably (and better, for what it cost). A few super minor bits I noticed while reading - on page two, the test system lists an "Enegmax" AIO, which I assume is an Enermax. :D Resizeable BAR is also detailed there as being enabled for...
  9. Diablo Immortal Prompts False Advertising Investigation

For a fun time, check out this law firm's nearly absurd list of litigation. They probably had to hire someone full time just to keep up with posting them. https://classlawdc.com/blog/
  10. DOUGH Announces Spectrum ES07E2D, a 27-Inch OLED Monitor with Glossy QHD Panel and 240 Hz Refresh Rate

They rebranded from Eve after their disastrous crowdfunding campaign for the 4K Eve Spectrum. Stay far, far away.
  11. AMD 10-Core/20-Thread Ryzen 7 7800X and 4-Core/8-Thread Ryzen 3 7300X "Fake" Benchmarks Spotted

These results are intentionally falsified; you took the bait. :) https://chipsandcheese.com/2022/10/27/why-you-cant-trust-cpuid/
  12. GIGABYTE Z790 AORUS XTREME and MASTER Motherboards Used XMP 3.0 Overclock T-FORCE DELTA RGB DDR5 Memory to 7950 MHz

It's mostly down to the memory die in this case. That particular Teamgroup memory is the newer SK Hynix A-die DDR5 - the kits have been trickling out for the last month or two, in low quantities. There are a few folks over at the Overclock.net forums who have been pushing these sticks into the...
  13. ASRock Announces Its First Gaming Monitors, including Phantom Gaming PG34WQ15R2B with Built-In Wi-Fi

Phantom Gaming (PG) 34" (34) Wide Quad HD (WQ) 1500R (15R) 2022 (2) Black (B). Honestly, it's miles better than Acer.
  14. PlayStation May Release Its Own PC Launcher, according to Files Found in Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered

They\'ll probably combine their existing Remote Play PC program with a PSN launcher/storefront client. Most people don\'t know that they can already stream PS4/PS5 games to their PC over a local network using that software. Let\'s hope they bring more features to PSN, since it\'s kind of getting...
  15. Diablo Immortal Player Spends over $15,000 to Obtain 5-Star Legendary Gem

He already intentionally deleted his account, immediately after the gem dropped for him (admittedly, an amusing turn). The only reason for the streaming stunt was to see how long it took, and at what cost. While giving Blizzard even more money. That'll show 'em.
  16. Intel Arc Alchemist Desktop Graphics Card Lineup Rumored to Comprise At Least Seven Models

Arc A770 has been floating around since at least last August. Not that it matters, since probably won't hit shelves until the heat death of the universe.
  17. Hideo Kojima Apologizes for Tweeting PlayStation Studios Banner, Promises That Kojima Productions Will Remain Independent

It can be both. Remember aaalll the way back in January? "SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC (“SIE”) announced today that it has entered into definitive agreements to acquire Bungie, Inc. (“Bungie”), a premier independent videogame developer and long-time...
  18. Forspoken Loads in Less than Two Seconds on M.2 SSDs Thanks to DirectStorage

They did post comparisons with and without DirectStorage. Not a big difference, but measurable. The bottleneck seems to be the decompression stage, at least in their specific workflow. Lots more in the Youtube video.
