Ok, so I have this strange issue where my PC won't simply wake from sleep but seemingly boots up, after which all my games from a certain drive are no longer installed even though the drive is still there, pointing battle.net to the games will reinstate them.

Btw this is an NVMe drive so no cable issues there.

Anyone has any clue to what's going on there?

Historically I have had nothing but issues with machines and sleep-states. Something eventually goes south for the winter when they wake.

If the drive was dropping out while the machine is in use, then it sounds like the controller on the NVME drive is beginning to fail.. I'd suggest getting the data off and RMA'ing the drive if its still within warranty.

Had a similar issue on wife's computer. Ended up being a bad stick of RAM causing all sorts of weirdness, most of it sleep related
Now this might be, the RGB on my ramsticks does seem to have a life of it's own, I tought I fixed it by reseating it, but it started to do rainbow again for no good reason, though not sure the RGB part has anything to do with the actual RAM part

I tried running memtest but can't for the life of me find a way to boot to that USB drive from the UEFI.

Last evening after waking from sleep I had an immediate BSOD (2nd time since I built the machine) and after a hard sgutdown and restart the games were again missing and had to be pointed to again to show up again.

Now from what I heard, seems some AM5 CPU's don't seem to like 64GB of ram, still any tips are welcomed.

There is a built in ram test in windows but I can’t recall off hand how to run it

Can also go old school and hardware it- turn clocks down to basic and run 1 stick at a time. That’s how we found outs recently

Well everything ran fine for a couple days, had a crash againafter wakeup just now, could not use my kayboard anymore, tried different USB ports, even a different keyboard, no go, managed to log into windows with the mouse and lo and behold, keyboard works again.

Battle.net games did go missing again thos.

I think you might have some failing hardware/drive going on. Motherboard/drive/CPU are all possible even ram. Have you tried running on one stick to see what that gets you?

I haven't tried that yet, there are 4-5 days between crashes so this will take a while to find out, possibly, also not sure why this would mess with USB ports while booting, it's all brand new hardware and seems to work fine most of the time, I would imagine dodgy RAM to cause more frequent issues but stranger things have happened.

Don't have any spare hardware lying around I can swap around with which sucks.

From one side I would like it to be more frequent/easier to replicate, sould make troubleshooting easier

BTW I did go trough some error logs and found some Icue ones in there, starting to wonder if there is something wrong with my keyboard/USB plug.

The mistery continues, yesterday my screens went black, hwinfo closed/crashed and netflix errorred, and my pc wanted me to use a different audio playback device.

I did manage to do the windows included memory test on 1 memory stick and reported no errors.

In case anyone is still following this, had another netflix crasgh that made my 2nd screen output messed up and required a restart, now I did have issues with the netflix app on a different computer also some years ago so not sure it is related to the current pc or the app itself.

Windows did a restart for an update a day orso ago that resulted in it beeing stuck rebooting but other then that (knock on wood) I did not get anything funky recently, I did turn of the IGP or whatever it's called on AMD which I used to install windows.

Will see how it keeps behaving the next couple of days, still would like to find a solution for the reboot hang which has been present since I built it.

This is in your main rig right? the 9900x with the 4080?

Are you running resizable BAR or whatever the equivalent is? My thought is perhaps try disabling that temporarily. Also what is the version of your OS? I'm wondering if CCD assignment is causing an issue.

Win11 pro 24h2 (clean install on a new NVMe drive)

Yea I doubt CCD assignment that version should have all the current patches for that, and you've stated all the BIOS patches are in. Resizable BAR is enabled currently while the issue presents itself? Have you tested with that off just to see if it makes a noticeable difference?

so, turning off the IGP did not fix it, DDU on AMD drivers for the GPU did not fix it, turned of XMP and ran firmware update on my OS drive, let's see if that does anything.
