Yeah we used to be able to put together an entire PC build for roughly the same price as a console. Now a 3060 which is roughly the same performance as the PS5's GPU costs as much as a PS5 digital edition.
 
People are gradually becoming conditioned and desensitized to higher prices. What used to cause sticker shock is now seen as a bargain. Maybe flooding the market with cheap sub-$50 GPUs (bonus if they include working digital outputs) will partially reverse the trend. Probably not.

A $400 PS5 keeps looking better. My PC isn't going anywhere, though. I need one anyway.
