There have been rumors and grumblings circulating for quite some time about the possibility of a more portable Switch, as well as a more powerful unit for the TV gamers. We do have some news on the portable front- Nintendo announced the Switch Lite this morning.
Featuring a smaller 5.5″ screen compared to the current model’s 6.2″, better battery life, and no external display connectors, the Switch Lite is arriving in September for $199. The console will launch in three standard colors, as well as special editions for the new Pokemon games arriving later this year.
Nintendo has stated in the past that their mobile gaming division and flagship console side would remain separated, but this makes me wonder if the Switch Lite is testing the waters as a successor to the popular 3DS.
