GarnetSunset has shared new images of the GeForce RTX 3090, NVIDIA’s flagship gaming GPU. It appears to be a massive, three-slot monster. Whoever took the photos placed an RTX 2080 Ti next to it for reference, and the size difference is not only apparent, but surprising.



Assuming that these aren’t elaborate, 3D-printed fakes, the images confirm that NVIDIA hasn’t made any significant changes to the RTX 30 Series’s novel, dual-fan design, which we first saw back in June. The photos also suggest that the RTX 3090 will be a ridiculously power-hungry beast that demands substantial cooling solutions.

1599 guaranteed. 1399 is too near what 2080ti started at. If it starts at 1399 it means performance will start a little closer to the 2080ti than what I am thinking. (Expect 50%plus for the 3090, and the 3090 be in limited supply, even if the other models are not)
 
The mention that it has 2 fans. One at the end of the card, and the other on the other side at the back slot. And that they are push/pull. Wouldn't that indicate that the actual card is not as long as the cooler to allow for this cross flow of air?

Pop that stock cooler off I bet the card is a lot shorter.

Honestly the exact same thing happened when they came out with the 1080 Ti's. At that point I was actually considering getting a 2nd Strix 1080 Ti for a rig and the prices, then, had doubled over the original prices. I had paid $749 for the 1st and at the time they reached over $1500 during the same month the 2080 Ti came out. Mining-ugh! History is somewhat repeating itself again.

I'm inclined to believe there is some ****ery afoot.

I bought an ncase m1 to make my next system, and ws hoping to go 3080 or 3090, so I am very interested in size and thermal management.

doing some measuring against the slot covers. There appears to be a ~10% difference in size of an industry standard between the two cards. That's a LOT of difference for lens distortion to account for.

By my math the cooler is 120mm wide, and the card is 300mm long. It appears to be less than 3 slots thick, so I'm guessing 50-55mm thick.

If it is $1400 as rumors claim, and gets marked up at release like the 1080 and 2080, then I'm going to be stuck with the 3080 at best. Or have a $210 case for sale. one or the other.

New rumor says the card is 310mm (12.2") long and 2.75 slots (70mm) wide. Source of the rumor comes from WCCFTech editor, so take it for what it is. Reference cards have typically been 267mm (10.5") long and 2 slots (40mm) wide.
