The third time might be the charm, as Grand Theft Auto VI now has a third release date announced, following a series of layoffs at Rockstar Games.

Those poor release date targets at other studios...

They either got a whole lot more time or a whole lot less...

As for myself, my interest in GTA never made the transition from 2D to 3D. Still waiting for RDR 1/2 to come down to a sub $10 price so I can buy and play them.

I need to go back and play the first one it's out on PC. I think I already bought it... not sure.

I know right? Shuffle madness in trying to avoid this and RS just keeps moving the goal posts. Well, on the flipside, and I haven't gone back to check Nov 26 titles, there's not a lot of AAA action happening in 26. I almost did a story on it last month (I think I ended up mentioning it as a side note in another story) after looking at the release schedule at PC Gamer or VGC (I forget which). There's maybe 3 or 4 for the year and a ton of indi stuff.

I hope it's because they want to launch on PC at the same time.

I got RDR2 for PC and realized it is the most boring open world game I have ever played. Didn't like how the story was going either. I don't get all the hype about it.

- That's what I'm worried about and why I really want to get RDR1 too and wait till everything is $10.

A lot of the hype around RDR2 seems to revolve around the "reactivity" of the world and all the little details Rockstar put in. I want a game not a horse ball size simulator.

That game was a slow burn, but when it finally did get its hooks in me - it was a great experience. By the end of it, it felt like the epic Western tragedy that I was expecting.

But, yeah, took me two or three attempts to get past that initial slog.

Took me several years and I forget how many restarts to finally get into it. Seriously cannot remember how many times I started a game, got about an hour in and then set it aside. For the longest time it was nothing more than another benchmarking tool until I finally was able to get into it last year and then really learned to appreciate it.

Tragedy, yeah there's a part in the game that hit me pretty hard even though I knew it was coming and the rest of the game afterward seemed more like just some kind of epilogue.

Only ever played 4 and it was ok, just ok. I’ve had 5 for years (free on EGS) but never could get into it - something about the gameplay just felt off

I've enjoyed them all since 3 went 3d. GTA that is. They play like you're in a heist/Mob movie for the most part. And I dig those.

I think I maybe got ~20% progression for V and never went back. Nothing against it, just didn't feel like going back. I remember messing around with IV on either Xbox or PS2 way back but that was about it.
