Woooow, that's some sad-@ss programming. Then again, this is Bethesda Softworks we're talking about. Seems par for the course.many of the identified problems stemmed from inefficient CPU utilization. For example, the game was reportedly rebuilding its sun and moon lighting systems every frame, even when nothing had changed. Other bottlenecks included redundant memory allocations, DirectX 12 command preparation largely confined to a single thread, and expensive world-streaming operations that could stall entire frames.
Most games coming out now have already had some form of AI used during development.Woooow, that's some sad-@ss programming. Then again, this is Bethesda Softworks we're talking about. Seems par for the course.
An AI-written mod is not the answer though. It's like all the many console-to-PC decomp and recomp ports that have been surfacing over the last few years. A lot of them have been made using AI. Which means I won't f*cking touch them. They don't exist to me. I'm not playing Oblivion Remastered, but if I was, I wouldn't use this mod.
I'm fine with AI if it means cheaper/better games. But we all know how scummy most publishers are. Most games coming out now have already had some form of AI used during development.
Only if you let an agent loose. Microsoft has created Quicksand: https://github.com/microsoft/quicksandsomething that'll put your eye out if your not careful with it.
Just like if you sleep while your tesla drives and it runs over a crossing guard and 22 kids... you are the one responsible not the AI.Only if you let an agent loose. Microsoft has created Quicksand: https://github.com/microsoft/quicksand
Run the agent only inside that sandbox and it shouldn't be able to do anything too dangerous. And oh yeah, better not give it unfiltered internet access or you could get blamed for whatever it does with that.
I mean it's actually really simple. By the time these kids grow up the AI won't need them so of course it's working to eliminate them now. It's removing drains on resources that could otherwise be best used to serve the needs of the AI.I'm thinking of various articles and stories I've seen posted, which may be true of may be made up - hard to tell these days - about people who seriously injure or self-end themselves because they followed AI advise. Cant sandbox away idiocy.
