  1. Got a Radeon 6700 XT

I had initially ruled out buying a video card during these crazy times, but decided to check eBay to see how much my video card could go for (Radeon Vega 56).. To my surprise, it was a LOT more than I thought... $600 - $800... After realizing that, I started my search, and I had a card-holder...
  2. Difficult to navigate between pages of a review

I will check on desktop later today and let you know. On Mobile, the “hamburger” icon in the upper right disappears before you get to the end of the article (page numbers). If possible that should also display through the whole page.
  3. Memory speed/settings

Thanks! I pulled up DOCP and the listed RAM specs were right there! Too easy!
  4. Apple’s iPhone 13 Lineup Will Reportedly Start at 128 GB of Storage, with 1 TB Options for Pro Models

Yeah… 64GB iphone here. Only 40GB used, but a lot of that are things like podcasts that get auto downloaded. Could clean it up quite a bit I suppose.
  5. Memory speed/settings

Hi Got some fresh sticks in along with a new motherboard... The RAM is supposed to be running at 3600Mhz 16CL... But I see it's currently running at 1330 20CL... What's the best way to get it up to its rated speed? I very briefly poked around in the BIOS, but I didn't see an option for...
  6. Having issue getting new build to boot

Yeah -- So my brother gave me this board he purchased (I think) prior to the 5900X being released. Turned out to be a BIOS issue... This board has a nice feature that allows you to update the bios via a thumb drive and that solved the issue :) All is good now!
  7. Having issue getting new build to boot

Hi all, Hoping you can help me troubleshoot. I have a new build with the following specs: CPU: Ryzen 5900X GPU: Radeon Vega 56 Motherboard: ASUS STRIX B550-E RAM: Crucial Ballistix 32GB...
  8. What’s the best way to install Windows when upgrading components?

I have a Windows 10 "Education" license from college that I've been using for the last 5 years... Trying to figure out whether or not I can get use that to do a clean install of Windows on the new hardware..
  9. What’s the best way to install Windows when upgrading components?

Hi all, I’m upgrading my PC for the first time in just under 5 years. I’m wondering if there is a best/preferred method for getting Windows on my new machine. Can I just install via a thumb drive and use the product key in my current system settings? Or should I clone my existing SSD to my new...
  10. AMD Continues to Lose Graphics Card Market Share to NVIDIA

Yep... Would love to buy a new AMD card, but I can't find them in stock. And the times I do find them in stock, they're so ridiculously overpriced it's simply not worth it. My Vega 56 will need to hold out for a bit longer...
  11. Non-Big 3 Cell Carrier

Thanks. I am considering giving Mint a try for 3 months to see... Even if the network gets de-prioritized on occasion, I find it hard to believe it will be so often that it would justify the $80 premium/month I'm paying AT&T.
  12. Difficult to navigate between pages of a review

Thanks... Didn't notice it there... Typically, the right side of content is reserved for ads, and given it's open block design, I probably just assumed it was an ad. I would recommend placing it at the bottom, next to the page counter.. seems to be more standard design that way. Don't know if...
  13. Difficult to navigate between pages of a review

Hi, I find it very difficult to quickly navigate to a specific page in the review. The only options appears to be: I skimmed the review, then read something in the concolusion, and now I want to read more detail... The only problem, I have no idea what page it's on! And just having the pages...
  14. Non-Big 3 Cell Carrier

Hi, I've always been wrary of the "discount" carriers (non- AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile), but in an effort to cut my monthly expenses, I'm looking at various options. Specifically, I'm looking at Spectrum Mobile (Verizon) and Mint Mobile (T-Mobile)... Does anyone have experience with either of...
  15. AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution and NVIDIA DLSS Compared in Necromunda: Hired Gun and Marvel’s Avengers

I think either one by themselves looks pretty good, but when comparing the two, I actually like the slightly more sharp version in FSR.
  16. Games you'd like to see a remaster of?

For me, I'd love to see a remaster of Prey (2006)... It had amazing graphics at the time; they still look pretty decent... But I would love to see it again with modern graphics, raytracing, and AI not built on the Doom 3 engine (a real weak point imo).
  17. AIC Benefit?

Cool -- So seems like there's no real benefit then. Given that generally their prices are more expensive, I wasn't sure if I was missing something.
  18. Lan All Night -- Dallas Lanparty

Never went during those years (first year was 2005), but I can definitvely say Quakecon started to go downhill quick once Zenimax/Bethesda purchased id Software in 2009. Now -- It's still a great time, don't get me wrong. But knowing what it once was, you can't help but yearn to go back in time.
  19. AIC Benefit?

Is there any benefit to an Add-in card over a SSD in the m2 slot? (e.g.: https://www.microcenter.com/product/631664/wd-black-an1500-1tb-ssd-(wds100t1x0l)-up-to-6500-mb-s-pcie-nvme-30-x8-internal-solid-state-drive,-3d-tlc-nand,-add-in-card-(aic) ) It looks like it uses pcie3 connection... So is...
  20. Battlefield 2042 Launching October 22, 2021 for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One

I haven't played a BF game since Bad Company 2, since the ones after that in the series were on Origin. Glad to see this one is coming to Steam. I used Origin for about a year while playing Apex Legends and it was a horrible experience. Depending on the reviews, I may actually pick this one up...
