  1. Daedelic Entertainment Is Closing Its Development Department Following the Disastrous Lord of the Rings: Gollum Release

One of the comments I mad on another forums was that Daedalic as a developer had never made a single good game throughout their entire history. That Embracer thought it was a good idea to give the LOTR IP to Daedalic to develop a game based on it says more about how mismanaged or ill-informed...
  2. James Gunn Calls Out “Really Lazy” Superhero Movies as Ticket Sales for The Flash Drop 73 Percent in Second Week

It was David Zaslav. I swear I saw James Gunn quoted as saying the same thing somewhere... https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/the-flash-ezra-miller-cinemacon-1235401610/

  4. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Sees Lonely Launch in Japan: $299 Ada Lovelace GPU Attracts Single Customer at Major Retailer

True, but you're not going to find any 3060 cards for much cheaper at the moment. There are some cheap used 3060 Ti out there, but they're not the norm. The RX 7600 fares a little better against the RX6600 comparatively, but not by much. It's not the reality we want, but it's the reality we...
  5. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Sees Lonely Launch in Japan: $299 Ada Lovelace GPU Attracts Single Customer at Major Retailer

That is their gross margin. Net margin: https://www.macrotrends.net/stocks/charts/NVDA/nvidia/profit-margins
  6. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Sees Lonely Launch in Japan: $299 Ada Lovelace GPU Attracts Single Customer at Major Retailer

I just seeing it as NVIDIA trying to keep their unrealistic 30% margins as wafer cost continues to rise. AMD can't afford it, but as the underdog in the market they're forced to lower their margins to try and compete with NVIDIA.
  7. Christopher Walken Is Revealed as Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV, Emperor of the Known Universe, in the Latest Dune: Part Two Trailer

Technically, this was revealed last month. The new trailer is the first time we see him in the role. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/christopher-walken-dune-two-1235144841/
  8. James Gunn Calls Out “Really Lazy” Superhero Movies as Ticket Sales for The Flash Drop 73 Percent in Second Week

Ironic, considering James Gunn called The Flash the best superhero movie he had ever seen.
  9. Starfield Modder Promises NVIDIA DLSS 3 Support within Five-Day Early Access Period: “Don’t You Worry”

DLSS 3 = upscaling + frame gen. Some games my separate the options as "DLSS 2" and "DLSS 3," but you can turn on DLSS 3 and turn off frame gen. I agree. I tried it in Portal RTX and the added latency was negatively affecting my gameplay. It isn't really needed with the 4090, anyway. If I...
  10. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Sees Lonely Launch in Japan: $299 Ada Lovelace GPU Attracts Single Customer at Major Retailer

The A770 is priced similarly and is slower than the 4060. The RX 7600 is only $30 cheaper and performs similarly without ray tracing, although Brent's review shows it's a lot slower. The better ray tracing performance of the 4060 is probably worth the extra $30.
  11. Valve Is Banning Games with AI-Generated Art from Steam, Developers Say

Which is funny because I think asset flips are a lot more problematic than AI algorithms at this point.
  12. Valve Is Banning Games with AI-Generated Art from Steam, Developers Say

I guess they need to ban The Callisto Protocol, then. There are environmental textures and models that were made by AI.
  13. Diablo IV Boosts XP Gained from Nightmare Dungeons and Buffs Damage for All Classes, including Rogue

Not as bad as sorcerer, though. A single random attack can one shot a sorcerer in world tier 4. Not speccing into Glass Cannon really doesn't help, either.
  14. Cyberpunk 2077 Was Only Hated On Because It Was the “Cool” Thing to Do, CDPR Says

There was an internet bandwagon effect to capitalize on clicks and views for revenue generation, though. Plenty of people were enjoying the game in spite of the launch issues, which were still pointed out, but I believe that it definitely became "cool" to hate on the game. You still see people...
  15. FINAL FANTASY XVI Announces 3 Million Copies Sold, Making It the Fastest-Selling PS5 Exclusive Ever

For comparison's sake, Cyberpunk 2077 sold over 5 million copies on PC alone in its first week of release. If we're breaking down multiplatform releases by platform, then Cyberpunk makes Final Fantasy XVI look not as impressive.
  16. AMD Announces It Is Bethesda’s Exclusive PC Partner for Starfield, Killing All Hopes of NVIDIA DLSS 3 and Frame Generation Implementation: “We ...

We'll get there, eventually, but the current trend of linear increase in price with transistor node shrinkage means it will still be needed for affordable performance. The 4090 can already run things like Cyberpunk 2077 full overdrive RT without DLSS at sub-4K resolution smoothly. At 4K we're...
  17. Microsoft Plans to Move Windows 11 “Increasingly to the Cloud”

DXR ray tracing support with VKD3D is spotty, at best, and since it needs to translate the DXR calls to VK RT it means a general decrease in performance compared to native. You may not care about ray tracing, but I and others do.
  18. Marvel’s Avengers Adds Paid XP and Resource Boosts, Breaking Earlier Promises

The virtue signaling Ms. Marvel is the main character in the single player, so you're not missing anything.
  19. Hitman Removed from GOG Due to DRM Controversy

Except that it wasn't DRM. Expect whatever version comes out later, if one even comes out, to be completely neutered from a feature perspective since the community apparently believes that any online requirement == DRM.
