Valve Could Ditch Using a Custom Processor for Steam Deck 2 in Favor of One That Might Outperform the PlayStation 6/Xbox Project Helix

AVX512 was conceived to make faster rendering possible on CPUs. Too bad they pivoted to business use cases afterwards and fragmented the hell out of it.
 
Does anyone here have an use case for this dense of a compute solution? I'd love to hear it.

Yes, everyone on The FPS Review BOINC team. A few of us have high core count Genoa CPUs. We're currently in a Primegrid challenge making these CPUs sweat.

I have 3x 96-core Genoa's myself. As well as 4 64-core EPYC Rome setups and a 32-core EPYC Rome setup. Plus some other CPUs in the competition at the moment.
 
I mean it could probably do software rendering like back in the day using windows 2000 to play openGL titles using software rendering.
We'll never really know what's truly possible thanks to nvidia pushing their path tracing tech. The original Larrabee project was based on Pentium cores (yes, modified 586 cores!) and ran this:
