  1. GTA Publisher Thinks Video Games Should Be Priced at Dollars Per Hour

Yeah this dynamic would cause game makers to make all kinds of un-fun decisions because of more $$$. We already know people are willing to pay more for cosmetics, isnt that enough money? I mean FFS how much did GTA5 make?
  2. Starfield Runs Better with NVIDIA DLSS, Benchmarks for AMD-Sponsored Game Show

I would guess the consoles use FSR as well. But maybe not.
  3. Starfield Runs Better with NVIDIA DLSS, Benchmarks for AMD-Sponsored Game Show

NEWS: Competitors software technology runs better on competitors hardware! In other news: Competitors software doesn't run at all on other hardware! Elsewhere: Water is wet! Seems like if I was a developer I would first implement features that can help all users and implement hardware specific...
  4. Amazon Launches New Health Care Benefit for Prime Members for $9 a Month

I work for a very similar highly regulated industry, I am very sure that your personal info is not something Google or MS can get info about from our cloud environments. If this was found to happen there would be very heavy fines. Regulated data must have strict controls around access that is...
  5. Amazon Launches New Health Care Benefit for Prime Members for $9 a Month

I am not referring to things like billing codes etc. I am referring to actual results. I will say Im not sure I have heard the MIB acronym, what is that? There is some motive here, its not free to amazon and they are just bundling it to prime making it "free" to subscribers.
  6. Amazon Launches New Health Care Benefit for Prime Members for $9 a Month

And that data should not be accessible by AWS or Google for thier viewing. The EMR systems providers need to have encryption on that type of data that is not accessible by anyone. HIPAA type rules.
  7. Amazon Launches New Health Care Benefit for Prime Members for $9 a Month

If they have it w/o consent then that is a whole ball of wax they don't want. And they certainly have never had my consent. None of my medical goes to google either. BTW - Im not saying they don't have it, but this would legitimize them having it, which is a no-go for me.
  8. Epic Games Store Thought It Could Claim Half of All PC Gaming Revenue, but Remains Unprofitable Five Years After Launch: “The Goal Is Still Growt...

How can you not be profitable when you sell something that is ethereal? I mean if the sales can pay for cloud hosting that is really really sad. If they spent so much on giveaways that they are un-profitable for 5 years, someone needs to be fired. I wonder if this is a tax shelter =)
  9. Amazon Launches New Health Care Benefit for Prime Members for $9 a Month

My mind jumps to "Why would Amazon do this?" And then... a reason to have your health care info. Me no likely.
  10. MSI Unveils PROJECT ZERO Motherboards With Hidden Connectors On The Back

Yeah this was what I figured, which makes it pretty DOA IMHO. About 1% of the cases actually look good, and why would I care about this feature... because of looks. So vendor lock-in and expensive (and mostly ugly) cases will mostly likely be the end result. A standard for this would be nice, as...
  11. MSI Unveils PROJECT ZERO Motherboards With Hidden Connectors On The Back

How does this work, a quick check on most of my cases would not accomidate the connectors being plugged in with that configuration. The connector + cable would be too tall to do that.
  12. Rumor: NVIDIA Planning GeForce RTX 4080/4070 SUPER GPUs, including GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

Does this mean higher prices again? I mean an 800$ 4070TI is already crazy.... and the difference between it and the 4080 is already small. This needs to be a straight up replacement at same $$$ IMHO, but some how I doubt it will be.
  13. Grand Theft Auto VI’s RAGE 9 Engine Teased with Advanced Lighting System, Revolutionary Water Physics, and More: “Graphics Gap between RDR 2 an...

Im honestly with ya here, I havent really enjoyed a single rockstar game. Mile wide 2 inches deep.

Im with ya, unless someone make it alot more enticing from a cost/playability perspective thats a no thank you!
  16. DLSS 3.5 Is More Beautiful Than Native Rendering, Frame Generation Produces “Much Realer” Frames Than Traditional Graphics Frames: NVIDIA

TBH that bicycle wheel just doesn't look like realistic shadows. They are too hard with other shadow items being diffuse. I still haven't seen anything with DLSS that was better than native from my use. (3070TI) Better framerate yes, but games always seem to have annoying artifacts.(Also with...
  17. AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Offers 46% Faster Performance Than NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 in Starfield: “Disproportionately Taxing”

This is just like all the TWIMTBP games that performed worse on AMD. I mean nvidia help "optimize" games to work on their cards at AMDs detriment, why is AMD doing the same some "bizarre" thing? After all this had to work well on the very hardware limited consoles. The concerns over sponsorship...
  18. AMD Radeon Team Plans “Major Project Announcements” for Gamescom

They will announce they are going announce NVIDIA is buying them =)
  19. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series “Blackwell” Graphics Cards Will Reportedly Not Include an AD104 Successor at Launch

Its certainly not that simple. A design has to have a significant amount of re-work (read cost) before it can be produced on a different process (even between similar process/nodes from different vendors). You cant just take something that was Samsung 8nm and copy paste it to TSMC 7nm w/o alot...
  20. AMD Zen 5 “Strix” APU Features Performance and Efficiency Cores

AMD makes standard and dense versions of their chiplets for cpu cores, the rumors are that they may make hybrids with mixed chiplets that combine standard, dense, and GPU chiplets on a single substrate (possibly other things as wells like FPGA and AI accelerators).
